Riley Designer Accessories
custom design
your jewellery
to match your gown and personal style.
The golden rule when deciding which accessories to wear is to select your gown
first.
If you already have the gown it immediately provides you with certain parameters
to decide about your accessories.
STYLE
If the gown is formal and fitted, simple and flowing, modern or traditional,
alternative or conservative, medieval or fairy-tale, try and
reflect this feel in your accessories.

NECKLINE
Strapless gowns with
Chokers can work really well:
Chokers -
VRBN 030,
VRBN 150
and
VRBN 161
However, you may find you need a more dramatic piece with drops in order to
“fill in” more skin:
Necklaces -
VRBN 189
and
VRBN 080
“V” shaped or sweet heart
neckline will look great with a “Y” shaped necklace:

Halter neck gowns usually
don’t allow enough room for a necklace. A fantastic alternative is a sparkling
headpiece:

COLOUR
Rhodium (like silver, but non tarnishing)
Silver
accessories are
definitely more popular now. However, be careful when purchasing jewellery that
is silver plated as it will
tarnish in just a few months. Rhodium plating is far superior in quality and
looks almost the same as silver and will not tarnish. All Virginia Riley
“silver” pieces are rhodium plated.
Headpiece -
VRBC 015.
Gold
Gold is more of an obvious contrast colour so I would always recommend silver
unless your gown has warm tonings or gold detailing.

Crystals and Pearls
Swarovski crystal is available in a myriad of colours so you can usually
find the perfect crystal colour to match your gown and this is particularly
useful for bridesmaids. If the gowns are being made take a fabric swatch with
you or if the gown is already made, take it with you and wherever possible try
it on with the accessories and view it in different light.
Swarovski have just brought out a high quality range of synthetic pearls that
actually contain a crystal inside each pearl which gives it the weight of a real
pearl and are resistant to perfume and skin acid, they even warm up with your
body temperature like real pearls. Besides white and ivory, they are also
available in pale pink, pale green, burgundy, bronze and Tahitian black pearl.
Classic and timeless on their own or mix them in with crystals for a modern
twist.

wedding,
